Devil Horns 010: Intro To S.O.D.

feature-devilhorns-episode010

In preparation for our review of S.O.D.’s monumental album Speak English or Die, we bring you a completely impromptu discussion between Corey and Mike. This was recorded a while back, and some of what’s said may seem to be a few months dated. What’s the heaviest song of all time? The talk begins there, and meanders to some great places — including S.O.D., Anthrax, Metallica, Soundgarden, Pantera, and a lot more.

I have a different interpretation of what makes a song “heavy” compared to most other people, but I’d toss in a vote for Lamb of God’s “Terror and Hubris in the House of Frank Pollard” or Six Feet Under’s “Involuntary Movement Of Dead Flesh”. SFU’s track qualifies as one that ramps me up to the point of wanting to punch someone, so I think it falls into Mike’s definition of heavy. \m/
